WHY ME?
In a cluttered world of technology where “Google” is King and “Alexa” reins supreme as the Queen of knowledge, (or maybe this is just me) we have all become proficient medical practitioners, style gurus and professional tutors. And when it comes to booking travel, well we’re all experts. Maybe you’ve meticulously researched places to stay, and you’re ready to book a holiday based on Instagram selfies, the best spa reviews and products? The original Cowshed natural products are a personal favourite. You’ve checked the passport and trawled through copious amounts of information on vaccinations, deposits, visas. Everything feels delicious, glorious, controlled and you feel slightly smug.
And then, just when you are about to gleefully click confirm, another idea pops into your head. Discombobulation sets in. What if you’ve booked too early, or too late? And what if you’ve been seduced and booked entirely the wrong thing after all? You thought you could be a “Yoga in Puglia” type of person but actually on reflection what were you thinking? This is far too wholesome when really your idea of “Holiday Heaven” is padded poolside loungers, bright white sand and oodles of Margaritas in no particular order.
Travel-wise we are inundated with “Go here, and this will change your life” points of view. And for all of us the big questions continue to raise their ugly heads. Should we go away at Christmas? Is my money safe? Am I insured? What happens if I break a leg? Should I be worried if I can’t read Japanese?
The key here, is that travel can mean so many things to different people. You might be a foodie looking to experience Peru’s gastronomic prowess, or a Fjord expert. You might be a travel novice, who has never stepped outside of Blighty; or a self-taught tech-savy travel pro who takes pride in doing it all yourself. Either way, at some point, you’re going to want to think about how you can do things differently. How can you mix it up a little or a lot? How can you save time. And ideally clear the fog.
Working with me means there is no such thing as a typical itinerary. Perfection for one is misery for another. The geek in me adores planning and researching. I invest a huge amount of time in understanding my clients; their expectations, dynamics and passions so that I can create something that is positively unique for each one. Should you ever need to know if and where you can see a ballet in let’s say Miami – my favourite thing to do and talk about – then if I don’t know – I will find out.
