I LOVE "City Breaks" ...

I’ve drawn up a collection of my favourite charming “City Break” hotels perfect for an Autumn escape and conveniently located for sightseeing and exploration.

I have so many really useful tips I would love to share which can save time and money and help you make great choices. I invite you to read on to find out more.

Amsterdam - Set within 25 interlinking 17th-and 18th-century canal houses, the Pulizer is located along the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht canals and has its own private dock. You can take to the water on one of the Pulitzer's canal boats or discover the boutiques in the popular Nine Streets district. For the ultimate indulgence, stay in one of the Collector's Suites, inspired by the flamboyant Dutch aristocrats who once called the canal houses home.

Dubrovnik - Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik, an icon of private boutique luxury and design, has re-emerged with a fresh new vibe after its complete refurbishment in spring 2019. Carved into a cliffside, with floor-to-ceiling windows revealing the vast Adriatic, five-star boutique Hotel Bellevue Dubrovnik is a state-of-the-art seaside retreat around the bay from Dubrovnik’s a magnificent 6th-century Old Town.

Edinburgh - The iconic building that houses the Gleneagles Townhouse was originally home to the British Linen Company, which later became the Bank of Scotland. Outstanding architectural features are found throughout the charming urban retreat, with each room uniquely designed to imbue a sense of understated luxury with an appreciative nod to the heritage of the building. The property’s vibrant all-day restaurant is perfect for breakfast, long lazy lunches and spirited dinners. A members' club, wellness centre, two striking bars and a rooftop terrace with extraordinary city views – previously only held by the rooftop statues – complete this Edinburgh gem.

Marrakech - A luxurious terracotta palace turned hotel just outside Marrakech, the Selman boasts Henri Chenot spa facilities, tastefully designed French-style rooms by Jacques Garcia, an Olympic-size swimming pool flanked by palm trees, and Arabian horse shows featuring 16 purebred horses. The hotel combines Moroccan tradition with an art nouveau style and an eye for detail, creating a beautifully elegant atmosphere that’s not overdone.

Oman - From plane to pool in just fifteen minutes, The Chedi is a place you won't want to leave. Meandering pathways guide you through the acres of green lawns, azure pools and white-washed villas. If it weren't for the Omani architectural touches you could make-believe that you were in any far-flung exotic beach location, while feeling smug at avoiding the long-haul flight, time difference and not-so-reliable weather.

Paris - European glamour with 1920s heritage in the very heart of the Paris's Golden Triangle, close to the Champs Elysees. Grand Powers first welcomed well-heeled travellers to Paris in the 1920s – but its roots run deeper. Built in the mid-19th century in the Haussmann style, this boutique retreat rubs shoulders with the fashion houses and stately residences of the Golden Triangle. With Eiffel Tower views completing the picture, this is Paris at its most cinematic. Inside, you’ll discover a stylish setting that weaves together the best in European design from the 1930s to today.

Rome - A great little find is Hotel Locarno, Rome’s most storied hotel and a rare city hideaway. It’s located just off the Piazza del Popolo, which is beautifully central for the sights and it has the most fabulous bar with decades of history and incredibly inventive cocktails.

With long-established high profile partnerships in the world of luxury travel, I can give you access to their one-off hyper curated guides and tell you all about surfacing trends and new openings.

I would love to help so do get in touch to discuss your next getaway.
